Coming from Winston-Salem, Greensboro, or Charlotte take 421 north into Wilkesboro and turn right at the fifth stop light onto Highway 16 north. Follow 16 north for about eighteen miles and stay right after passing under the Blue Ridge Parkway. Follow our sign on the right side of Hwy 16 and pass through the barricade that says open to local traffic. Go three miles further on NC 16 north to Glendale Springs and turn right at our sign onto Old Wilkesboro Stage Couch Road. Follow Old Wilkesboro Stage Couch Road for three miles and back onto NC 16 north. From there you can see the river and Zaloo’s Canoes .
Coming from Boone take 421 south ten miles to 221 north and turn left at the light. Go about ten miles to West Jefferson and turn right onto Hwy 163 at the stoplight in front of McDonalds. Go seven or eight miles on Hwy 163 and turn left onto Hwy 16 north passing through the barricades that are open to local traffic. Go three miles on hwy 16 north to Glendale Springs and turn right at our sign onto Old Wilkesboro Stage Couch Road. Go three miles and you will come out onto NC 16. From here you can see the river and Zaloo’s Canoes.
From Jefferson go straight ahead off the four lane onto Hwy 88 East/Hwy 16 south. Proceed three miles crossing the New River Bridge and turn right following Hwy 16 south. Pass the country store on the right and quickly turn left on Bare Creek Road. Follow Bare Creek Road two miles and turn right on Bare Creek Access Road. Go one and a half miles and turn right on Raccoon Hollar Rd and follow to the end. Turn right on Old Wilkesboro Stage Couch Rd. and follow it back to Hwy 16 north. You’ll see the river and Zaloos.
